ENVIRONMENT & CLIMATE.
We are working to reduce our environmental and climate impact throughout the value chain – from product development and material selection to transportation and energy use. Through innovation, close collaboration and data-driven monitoring, we are working to reduce emissions, use resources more efficiently and contribute to a more circular business.
Products & production.
The manufacturing of our products accounts for most of our climate and environmental impact. This is why we are working with more sustainable materials, resource-efficient processes and the increased use of renewable energy in production. Through clear requirements for suppliers and data-driven follow-up, we are working to reduce emissions, water use and chemical impact throughout the value chain.
Chemicals.
We are working systematically to achieve the responsible handling of chemicals throughout the value chain. By specifying requirements, following up and working in close collaboration with suppliers, we reduce the use of harmful substances and ensure that our products comply with applicable legal requirements and high safety standards.
This work is based on transparency, control and continuous improvement.
Water.
Textile production is often water-intensive, especially in connection with cultivation and dyeing. This is why we are working to reduce water use and prevent pollution through more efficient processes and clear requirements for suppliers.
We also prioritise technologies with a lower environmental impact, such as solution dye, where the dye is added in the fibre production stage. This reduces both water use and chemical emissions compared with traditional dyeing.
Animal welfare.
Our animal welfare requirements are based on The Five Freedoms, which describe basic principles of animal welfare throughout the supply chain.
We work actively with clear guidelines for materials of animal origin:
All of the down in our own products is certified in accordance with the Responsible Down Standard (RDS), which prohibits plucking from live birds and forced feeding, and also ensures traceability. We also use recycled down in parts of the range.
We have been a fur-free chain since 2001 and do not sell products containing fur.
We only permit mulesing-free merino wool and do not use angora.
Through clear requirements and regular follow-up, we ensure the responsible use of materials of animal origin.
Sustainable & recycled materials.
Material selection is one of the most important factors in reducing our climate impact. This is why we’re gradually increasing the proportion of recycled and more sustainable materials while developing circular solutions together with our suppliers and other partners.
Transport & packaging.
Transport and packaging are important areas in our climate work. We are working to reduce emissions through smarter logistics, fossil-free alternatives and more resource-efficient packaging solutions. By optimising flows and collaborating with partners, we can reduce both climate impact and resource utilisation.
Electrification.
We are gradually electrifying our transport operations. Measures include the use of electric trucks for transport operations between our warehouses. This is an important step towards a more fossil-free distribution system.
Fuel.
We are reducing the climate impact of transport operations by increasing the use of fossil-free fuels and reducing the need for air transport.
Fill level.
By optimising packaging and transport flows, we are increasing the fill levels in our deliveries. This means that more freight can be transported with fewer transport operations, reducing emissions per product.
Standard packaging solutions.
We are developing standardised and more resource-efficient packaging solutions to reduce material utilisation and improve logistics.
Material.
We are increasing the proportion of recycled material in our packaging solutions and working actively to reduce the use of virgin plastic, with a focus on more circular flows.
Recycling.
We are developing circular logistics solutions where materials can be reused time and time again. This reduces both waste and climate impact.
Properties & business travel.
Our own operations account for a small part of our climate footprint, but represent an important area in our sustainability work. Our aim is to have energy-efficient properties, use fossil-free energy and choose more sustainable travel options.
Energy source.
We are striving to increase the proportion of fossil-free energy in our stores, warehouses and offices, through measures including dialogue with property owners and better follow-up.
Energy consumption.
Through energy efficiency improvements and improved follow-up, we are working to reduce energy use in our operations.
LED lamps.
We are making our stores and premises more energy-efficient by gradually replacing lighting with LED options, which reduces energy use.
Company cars.
We are reducing emissions from company cars through electrification and the transition to more sustainable fuels.
