Water

Minimizing the impact on the environment is a big challenge for all textile manufacturers. One way we do this at Stadium is to use Solution Dye, a special technique used to dye fabric for clothing.

Traditionally, the process of dyeing clothes has required large quantities of water, energy and carbon dioxide, since the color is “washed” into the fabric. However, in the Solution Dye process, the fibers are colored at the beginning of the process, before the threads are woven together into fabrics. This way, the traditional process of dyeing fabric after it is woven becomes unnecessary since the threads are already the right color. This saves huge amounts of water, energy and emissions, and in turn has a big impact on the environment.

We have been using the Solution Dye technique at Stadium for more than 10 years. At first it was only applied to black linings, but the technique was expanded in 2013 to dye a wide variety of colors. It is mainly used to color linings, but we also use it to color outer fabrics for our brands Warp, Everest, SOC, Race Marine and Stadium. It is our goal to continuously increase over time the number of products that are colored using Solution Dye.

All of our Solution Dye products are clearly labeled under our Supporting Earth concept together with the text “Save water & energy”.

Savings using Solution Dye compared to traditional dyeing:

  • Water – 80%
  • Energy – 60%
  • Carbon dioxide – 60%
  • Chemicals – 60%
